The Archeological Museum was founded in 1870 located in the current venue of Palazzo della Crocetta in 1880.
The Palace was built in 1620 for the Gran Duchess Maria Luisa D’Austria.
The museum contains one of the most important Etrurian collection of art in the world, while the Egyptian collection is the most important of Italy after Turin’s collection.
